The surrounding area of Hotel-Restaurant De Wijnberg Hotel-Restaurant De Wijnberg is situated in the centre of Bolsward, a historical city that is lively and cosy. The annual events such as the Eleven Cities Bicycle Tour, the Heamiel Days and the Bolletongersdei attract many visitors and give the city extra charm. Bolsward is centrally located in the most attractive part of Friesland. The Ijsselmeer coast, the Frisian Lakes and the woods in Gaasterland are very close to the hotel. There are also many fantastic biking and hiking trails. The Aldfaers Erf trail is an excellent example. This museum trail goes through the villages of Exmorra, Allingawier, Ferwoude and Piaam. Time has stood still along this trail so you can experience Friesland as it was left behind by the 18th- and 19th-century inhabitants. You can find beautifully restored and originally furnished buildings, crafts, tools and utensils. The lovely Frisian villages and cities such as Sneek, Workum and Franeker with their many museums and Frisian crafts make a visit to this region more than worthwhile.

The hotel is located in the centre of Bolsward, across the street from the VVV (tourist office). If you enter Bolsward by train, car, boat or bike, just follow the signs VVV.
