De Draak is the oldest hotel in The Netherlands. It dates from before 1397. All rooms are renovated to 4 star category. In 1994 the hotel has won the ANWB hotel trophy in 4-5 star category. It is situated near the town hall in the centre of the city.The stylish rooms and suites are situated in two buildings, the main building and the so-called Residence and are situated directly by the characteristic Grote Markt. The main building consists of four premises connected to one another. The old beams and Art Deco elements are reminiscent of earlier times giving many rooms their entirely own ambience and layout. There is no standard layout but there are a few standard facilities in the rooms such as an Internet connection in each room as well as the usual comforts (such as bathroom and colour television The Residence goes back to the Nineteenth Century or to be more precise, 1879. The building with the little inside garden exudes the grandeur of the period. The rooms are very spacious and have beautiful high ceilings. The intimate ambience and the romantic bridal suite make the hotel a unique location for weddings.

The Hemingway Restaurant The gastronomic restaurant in the Hotel & Residence de Draak with the famous Hemingway name offers culinary delights of magnificently refined dishes carefully prepared by the Head Chef Jeroen Bulkmans. The menu has a clear French and classic touch with a wide selection of good wines. Just like the hotel, the restaurant is on the characteristic Grote Markt in the centre of the entertainment area in the City of Bergen op Zoom. The cinema and theatre are within walking distance. The restaurant is a halfway house for lunch or dinner for guests and passers-by alike. During weekends, we recommend you reserve a table at the Hemingway to avoid disappointment La Pidola food and drinks pub The pleasant La Pidola food and drinks pub is situated in the neighbouring “Wapen van Henegouwen” building where our hotel guests can casually enjoy the sun-drenched Mediterranean cuisine. The kitchen is opened from 12.00 till 14.30 and from 18.30 till 21.30 On Saturday and Sunday the kitchen is opened from 18.30 toll 21.30

Policies

Cancellation Policy:
If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy:
All children are welcome. All children under 6 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding. All children under 2 years are charged EUR 14.50 per night and person for cots. All older children or adults are charged EUR 27.50 per night and person for extra beds. Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.
Deposit Policy:
No deposit will be charged.
VAT and city/tourist taxes:
VAT is included. Service charge is included. EUR 1.00 city/tourist tax per person per night is not included.
Internet:
Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and charges are applicable.
Meal Plan:
Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate.
Parking:
Private parking is possible on site (reservation is not possible) and costs EUR 12.50 per day.
Pets:
Pets are allowed. Charges may be applicable. The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival.
