Pec pod Snežkou is one of the most frequented all-season mountain resorts in the Czech Republic. It lies in the valley of the Úpa river and the brooks Zelený potok and Lucní potok, amid the peaks Cerná hora (Black Mountain - 1 299 metres), Jelení vrch (Stag Peak - 1 024 metres), Lišcí hora (Fox Mountain - 1 363 metres), Studnicní hora (1 553 metres) and Snežka. Snežka (Snow Mountain), on the border with Poland, is (1602 metres) is the highest peak in the Czech Republic.
