The town of Gorna Oryahovitsa is situated at the northern outskirts of the Turnovo Hills, 7 km north-east of Veliko Turnovo, 3 km north-west of Lyaskovets and 247 km north-east of Sofia. The Ambaritsa Hotel is situated near the city centre. Nearby attractions include: The Town Museum of History (within 1 km) - with numerous exhibits detailing the rich history of the town and its surrounding area. St. Georgi Church (within 1.5 km) - one of the town's most striking and architecturally impressive landmarks Rahovets (4 km) - these medieval ruins include a 250 metre long fortress, though there are mostly only foundations viewable today.

By Bus: From Sofia: - There is a direct bus from Sofia to Gorna Oryahovitsa. The bus stop is in front of the Post Office, 1 km away from the hotel. From Veiko Tarnovo: - Bus number 10 or 14 both take you from Veiko Tarnovo to Gorna Oryahovitsa. - The bus stop is opposite the hotel.
